Change Management in Emergency Services

Leading the Charge for Change.

Description: Fiscal challenges and advances in technology are just two big reasons that leaders in emergency services must know the steps to facilitate and manage change for the advancement of their profession. Emergency service organizations today are facing perhaps their greatest test, managing the change essential to adopting the tactics, technology, and leadership styles necessary to meet the challenges of the future while, at the same time, respecting the history and traditions that are critical to our identity and function. This program uses organizational and individual case studies to identify both missteps and mastery in organizational change and walks attendees through each part of the six-step process of managing the changes necessary for success in their own organizations.

Five-Step Focus on Feedback

Description: Some people fear it. Others crave it. Whether you’re talking about real-world performance or simulation/education, there’s no denying that one of the most important tools that leaders and educators must use properly is feedback. One framework uses six key steps: the “6 Rs” of providing effective feedback. This session will help you use these steps to enhance the performance on both and individual and organizational level.

  • Use the record and review steps help people think past their own perception to better connect their performance with patient outcomes.

Closing The Performance Gap

Description: It’s frustrating when an individual, group, or entire organization isn’t performing their best. In some cases, potential exists for improvement but isn’t being captured. In others, problems arise that shouldn’t. Often it’s a combination of both. Identifying where to work on and how best to deploy resources can be a challenge, especially when there is confusion between the meaning of quality improvement, quality assurance, and quality management. Focusing on the practical use of the tried and trusted PDSA model, this program helps leaders identify the issues they most need to tackle, set effective goals, and determine the most important steps to help the individuals, groups, or organizations achieve their peak performance.

The Beginner’s Guide to Making Meaning of Medical Research

Description: If you're the person who wants to know “Why?” and are looking to take your first steps into finding, understanding, and making meaning from research, then this class is for you. Set the statistics aside for now. Where we tell you where to find original research as well as expert commentary on that research. You’ll learn how to decide what research is worth reading, how to tell which research is going to change practice and which is simply raising new questions. Most importantly you learn to begin applying relevant research to your own work. Making meaning of medical research is a must-have skill for any modern healthcare provider and this class will help you get started.

You’re in luck! This program takes you through many of the basic statistical concepts found in today’s research and focuses more on the meaning than the math and gets to the bottom line. If you’ve always wanted to know what some of these numbers mean and more importantly, what they should mean to you, then odd are this class is for you.
