Good Enough Is Not Good Enough: Demanding More of Yourself and Your Service


Vince Lombardi said that, “The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence.” In our work, the quality of the lives of others is also in direct proportion to our commitment to excellence. So if we have all agreed to work in the service of others in their time of need, why do some people in emergency services only go as far as “good enough”? How do people slide from doing what’s right, to doing what’s “good enough” and how do we reconnect them to a commitment to excellence?
